It might be true for some, not all men age gracefully, and many women do look better than they ever did when they were younger. Attribute it to good genes or added effort in taking care of their bodies, whatever the method, there is no denying that these five fine men on our list have defied the test of time and aged wonderfully and are looking better than ever.

George Clooney

George Clooney received the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2018 at the age of 57. In over three decades of his career, Clooney has gone from guest starring in The Facts of Life to becoming one of Hollywood’s most influential actors. He has long been admired for his ability to age gracefully, and has argued there is no point “trying to fight” the aging process. In an interview with the National Post, Clooney also reiterated that those who dye their hair and get into plastic surgery actually make themselves look older. “I think for all of us, you have to come to terms with getting older and not try to fight it,” he said. Wise words indeed.

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig looks neither shaken nor stirred at the age of 50. The English actor had already scored a multitude of lead roles before he was anointed as the sixth James Bond in 2005. Craig’s smouldering looks and dashing demeanour was a perfect fit for the role. He is also the first blonde to play Bond and his third Bond film, Skyfall is currently the highest-grossing film in the series. While it is doubtful that he will continue 007’s legacy in its upcoming 25th installation, Craig will forever be immortalised as one of the hottest Bonds to date.

Ken Watanabe

Just like his Oscar-nominated ‘samurai’ character, Ken Watanabe is both a true fighter and survivor. Touted as one of Japan’s favourite cinematic exports, he still looks as smouldering as ever even after valiantly fighting a second battle with cancer in 2016 and surviving two bouts of leukemia more than 20 years ago. That has clearly not slowed him down one bit. Watanabe continues to soldier on with his recurring role as Dr Ishiro Serizawa in the next installation of Godzilla, which comes out in May.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad

There isn’t any other man in Malaysian or Asian history who has been elected prime minister twice in his lifetime. After a fifteen-year hiatus from politics, Dr Mahathir Mohamad is back as Malaysia’s seventh prime minister. It would be embarrassing to feel like an old bag if you compare yourself to this 93-year-old. Despite his hectic lifestyle as he pushes on to survive a century, Dr Mahathir isn’t immune to health issues. He has undergone two bouts of heart bypass surgery and lives by the simple rules of keeping fit. His daily regimen includes no smoking, no drinking and no overeating. For the rest of us, we’ll be all set with a little exercise and some literary indulgence.

Andy Lau

Hong Kong heart-throb Andy Lau made his mark in the Guinness World Records for the “Most Awards Won by a Cantopop Male Artist”. It doesn’t really come as a surprise since he had already won an unprecedented 292 awards by 2000. What a feat! Andy has openly spoken about how he preserves his youthful features on media platforms like Hit 99.7. His tips to delay ageing include not overeating and not indulging in too much sweet treats. You might also want to emulate his eating habits by choosing ten-grain rice to ensure a nutritionally balanced diet.
