Celebrity Chef Recipes: How To Make Gourmet Meals At Home
We’ve rounded up our favourite recipes from YouTube made using the simplest ingredients you can find in your pantry for some inspiration during the MCO period.
Jamie Oliver’s easy slow-cooked beef stew
This extremely versatile dish takes a bit longer to create but with a bigger portion, it can be kept in the freezer for over a week. As you’ll see from the video, Oliver serves it up in three ways, with mash potatoes, pasta or even just as a soup. That’s lunch and dinner sorted.
Jamie’s classic carbonara
One of Jamie Oliver’s most popular recipes. While he uses cured meat, you can also use bacon or beef bacon as an alternative. If you don’t have pecorino cheese at hand, try matured cheddar or parmesan reggiano instead. For vegetarians, skip the meat and egg and serve with extra lashings of cheese.
Gordon Ramsay’s margherita pizza
This homemade pizza dish is easy to recreate at home even if you don’t have an oven. The pizza is cooked in a frying pan to recreate the searing heat of a pizza oven for extra authenticity. You can also scatter your leftover veggies as a topping if you like a bit more variation.
Donal Skehan’s crispy fried eggs
This simple dish takes just a couple of minutes to make and will make a great hearty breakfast or lunch. Best served with noodles, rice or salad.
Nigella Lawson’s Ginger Jam Bread and Butter Pudding
If all that bread you stocked up on is starting to get stale, try this recipe. Swap the ginger jam with any other jam you might have lying around or simple sprinkle some cinnamon and ginger spice into the mix.
