One of the best perks of a business class ticket or certain airline membership status is the lounge – those luxurious chambers tucked away from the mayhem outside. Though not all premium lounges are created equal, Singapore Airlines’ SilverKris lounges are some of the best, offering a range of services that ensure each of their passengers’ needs are met, nay, exceeded. We checked in at their SilverKris lounges in Changi Airport Terminals 2 and 3 to experience their renowned premium service for ourselves. TERMINAL 2
As we entered the SilverKris lounge in Terminal 2, we were pleased to discover a cosy space with cushy tan armchairs accented by the soft, ambient lighting. Understanding that their passengers are constantly on the go and need to be connected to their gadgets, we noticed that almost every one of these armchairs came with its own power point. We nabbed The New York Times from a quality selection of newspapers and magazines and made ourselves comfortable in the inviting, relaxing atmosphere.

We were also pleased with the variety of delicious local and international cuisines made available at the buffet, with an equally large selection of wines and alcohols to accompany their meals. Terminal 2 lounge provided a nice little respite before our flight, and we were impressed with the super fast free WiFi and shower facilities. Definitely a thumbs up.

TERMINAL 3
This is Singapore Airlines’ flagship lounge for Business Class and First Class passengers, which is impressively huge. We appreciated its classical luxe design and found the lighting warm and cosy. There were lots of comfortable seating options in different parts of the lounge and the fresh orchids provided just the right elegant touch to a space that was already filled with class. Business travellers will find that they are more than well catered to with top of the line facilities and workspaces. As with the lounge in Terminal 2, their buffet was well-stocked with a variety of local and international foods and we enjoyed every bite.

We had some time to spare and more than happily made our way to one of the 10 immaculate and luxurious shower suites. Trust us: A shower while waiting for a layover is life-changing, especially when you can freshen up in one of these beautiful shower suites. And when you’re done (and if you can spare the time), you can snuggle up on a couch with their Givenchy-branded pillows and blankets – all you need to do is speak to a member of their attentive staff. We know it’s easy to, but don’t get so carried away you forget to board your flight. Trust us – it’s happened before.

NON-STOP FLIGHTS TO THE USA FROM SINGAPORE
Award-winning Singapore Airlines has been very busy recently. It made headlines in October when it launched the world’s longest non-stop flight route between Changi Airport and New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport. A month later, it announced its new non-stop route to Los Angeles International Airport from Singapore, one of the carrier’s non-stop routes to the United States.

And the airline, which flies to over 60 international destinations from its primary hub in Singapore, shows no signs of slowing down. One popular service is its Singapore Stopover Holiday where passengers can enjoy this modern metropolis with a stay at its selection of 3- to 5-star hotels, access over 20 attractive deals, enjoy complimentary rides on the SIA Hop-on Bus and more.
