Light the end of your year up with some warmth and comfort in the form of Nespresso’s Variations Italia Limited Edition coffee range. The collection is an homage to Italian hospitality and with all of us being so far apart thanks to the virus we need some extra help bringing warm moments into the home. 

This time around, the coffee flavours were inspired by delectable Italian delights like amaretti and hazelnut cake.

The Coffee

Variations Italia’s Amaretti Flavour is based on the traditional Italian biscuits of the same name that are made using ground almonds, egg whites and sugar. These treats are typically bittersweet, for those who like a strong almond flavour. In the coffee itself, there are notes of almond and vanilla that have been layered with South American Arabica’s cereal character that gives the coffee just that bit of zest. 

The Variations Italia Torta di Nocciole Flavour is also nutty but this time it’s the hazelnut that’s king. This espresso is like cake and coffee wrapped in one cup full of joe, with notes of toasted hazelnuts and vanilla to deepen the flavour. 

For those who aren’t too fond of straying from the good ol’ coffee flavour then the Il Caffè will give you the classic Italian espresso experience. Since you won’t be able to go to the source, which is Italy, then why not get the next best thing? Vietnamese and Indonesian Washed Robustas with a little Colombian Arabica mixed in gives the Il Caffè its robust, full flavour. 

The Extra Bits and Bobs 

What is December without an advent calendar? Instead of chocolate in the Festive Coffee Countdown, there is of course, one coffee pod for each day until the 24th when you’ll get a gift instead. 

On top of that, Nespresso is offering a new collection of porcelain for you and your loved ones to enjoy the ambrosial coffee in. The Lume Collection was designed by Milanese designer Federica Biasi. Lume means white in Italian and the set is aptly named with its delicate and simple design with a white matte finish.
