Ask any Arsenal fan old enough to remember the early 00s – upon the mention of Gilberto Silva’s name, they will sigh with nostalgia and reverence at the good old days from when the team was known as ‘The Invincibles’ and included fellow Arsenal legends such as Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Freddie Ljungberg.

Known as one of the world’s best defensive midfielders during this period, Silva played a key role in Arsenal’s success in remaining undefeated in the 2003-2004 season.

Needless to say, not too many people can make the claim that they know it’s like to win the World Cup and luckily for us, we were able to sit down with him and get his two cents on how he thinks this year’s tournament will play out.
