The 72nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival will light up the French Riviera, 14 to 25 May 2019, with movie screenings, exclusive parties and red carpet outfits each more glamorous than the next. While the serious business goes on in the city’s Palais des Festivals, the red carpet is the place for stars to show off custom creations crafted by some of the world’s more prestigious fashion houses, some of which have proved particularly memorable. Here’s a look at some of the outfits that went down in Cannes Film Festival red carpet history:
