JLo and A Rod split

In a press statement released yesterday, the uber celebrity couple,  Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez (so famous their initials JLo and A.Rod are enough)  declared, “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”

Speculation was rife amongst netizens early in the week, as JLo had appeared “sans” engagement ring in a few posts. The ageless diva recently graced the cover of Instyle Magazine, in which she mysteriously revealed that her favourite piece of jewellery was “My blue diamond,” the 8.5-carat Harry Winston gem given to her by her ex-husband Marc Anthony in 2003.

In the May issue interview which included quotes from friends such as Charlize Theron, DJ Khaled and exes, Marc Anthony and Ben Affleck, Alex Rodriquez was also curiously absent.

This was in huge contrast from their Mario Testino lensed cover for Vanity Fair in 2017,  where they spoke of “love, beauty and redemption.” Just last month, it was reported that Ms Lopez was still in wedding gown fittings as they had two weddings planned in Italy and The Hamptons over the summer that they had to cancel due to Covid. JLo has been silent on social media whilst A Rod posted a video of a collection of photos of the couple entitled “Jennifer + Alex”.

A gesture that evokes JLo’s duet with Marc Anthony, “No me Ames”(Don’t you love me)  – just when you thought you were done, he goes and does something to show his love.
