Kavita Sidhu Says That Age Is Just a State of Mind

The silk kaftan queen of Kuala Lumpur tells us her about her life, loves and influences.

Modelling, acting, producing and owning a business; she’s done it all. Kavita Sidhu has starred in seven movies, including the award-winning horror flick Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam and its sequel, both of which she also executive-produced.

Her name is also synonymous with silk kaftans now that she designs and runs her own fashion store KVITA in Kuala Lumpur. Her new line was featured recently in Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2017. Busy bee Kavita also co-owns the Zenzero Group of restaurants – Zenzero, Cicchetti Di Zenzero and Luce – with her husband Roberto Guiati.

What is the biggest misconception you have heard about yourself?
That I don’t eat. LOL.

Coffee or tea?
Tea for sure. I can’t take coffee, it makes me jittery.

Trunks or speedos?
Speedos if you have the body for it. (Editor-in-Chief: Really Kavita?!)

What are the best things about you?
I’m grounded.

What are the worst things about you?
My tardiness. (EIC: I can vouch for this.)

What does ageing mean to you?
I honestly believe that age is just a state of mind and you’re only as old as you think you are. I fight it out with age as often as I can – at the gym, eating right, laughing a lot, being in love and I’ve never stopped dreaming.

What inspires you in life?
So much inspires me, but if I had to choose one, it would be for my loved ones to be proud of me.

When is it okay to lie?
When your online shopping package arrives and you hide it from your husband.

What do you spend the most money on?
Property.

What makes you feel stingy?
Expensive face creams!

Panama Hat.

What is your current state of mind?
Positive.

Private jet or yacht?
Private jet.

What has been your greatest achievement in life?
To date and then marry Roberto!

Bikini or one-piece?
Bikini.

When do you get your best creative ideas?
At the beach on a summer vacay.

Rome.
