License to Thrill: Why Kate Middleton Wore that Gold Dress to the Bond Premiere and How You can Channel a Bond Girl

British designer Jenny Packham’s designs have always exuded elegance and glamour. For the forthcoming 60th anniversary of James Bond, she has collaborated with Eon Productions, which produces the Bond films, to create a capsule of evening dresses that pays homage to the different eras of the films. The collection is available for purchase on NET-A-PORTER, Harrods, and Neiman Marcus. We’ve also spotted some pieces that are available for rent on MY WARDROBE HQ.

Last month, Kate Middleton, a longtime fan of Jenny Packham’s, turned heads donning the designer’s glittering gold embellished gown at the premier of No Time to Die in London.

Here is our guide to the Bond Girl collection.

Goldfinger Cape Gown – inspired by the iconic image of Jill Masterson painted in gold laying on James Bond’s bed.

Casino Royale Lace-Up Gown – a reinvention of an original Jenny Packham design created in collaboration with the Oscars. Find your inner Vesper Lynd!

Tomorrow Dies Illusion Gown – inspired by the 90s fashion of cut out details and shaping indicative of this era and inspired by the soon to be Desperate Housewife Teri Hatcher.

Die Another Day Gown – a second recreation of an original Jenny Packham design created in celebration of Oscar night, evokes the chilling ice hotel in the film.

The Spy Who Loved Me Cape Gown – evolved from the iconic midnight blue style worn by Major Anya Amasova (played by Barbara Bach in the film) with crystal embellished straps.

The World Is Not Enough Sequin Gown – inspired by the explosive imagery of the film’s promotional poster and plot. The dress’s ombré sequin design is evocative of a fireball.

Dr. No One-Shoulder Gown – inspired by the red gown worn by Sylvia Trench during a game of Baccarat when the agent first introduces himself as ‘Bond–James Bond’.

Octopussy Sequin Gown – inspired by a piece worn by Maud Adams, the wrap-over gown has been recreated as a beaded silver dress.
