Nespresso and Fashion Designer Angel Chen Hop into the Year of the Rabbit Together
The Year of the Rabbit is upon us and the rabbit is a social animal. As is Chinese New Year; it is all about being together and celebrating with family, friends and even business partners. And while food (and sometimes alcohol) gets the most attention during these days, a quality cup of coffee should not be missing from the celebrations!
For the new lunar year Nespresso created a limited edition collection of classic Nespresso flavours that has something for everyone. Just what you need for a social holiday like Chinese New Year. The Year of the Rabbit also inspired Nespresso to collaborate with Chinese fashion designer Angel Chen. The celebrated designer added her own touch to the campaign.

Angel Chen Fusing Eastern with Western Aesthetics
Angel Chen is known for her bold and colourful designs and has been making a name for herself in the fashion industry for her unique mix of Chinese traditional culture with streetwear and modern elements. She has a signature aesthetic that combines traditional Chinese motifs, colours, and fabrics with a street-inspired edge, making her designs stand out.
Angel Chen has also been recognised for her focus on sustainability. Her brand Angel Chen, founded in 2014, is committed to sustainability and ethical production processes, making her the perfect partner for Nespresso.
For this campaign Angel Chen created a patchwork rabbit design fashioned out of unused wools, hand-woven materials and lace from her past collections and recycled Nespresso jute coffee bags. The recycled materials will be applied across Nespresso Boutique at The Gardens Mall store display for this special season. She also crafted a cotton pouch with a patchwork rabbit design, made from sustainable and upcycled materials. A gift you get when you purchase 15 sleeves of Nespresso coffees.
Limited Edition Collection of Nespresso’s Classics
The Nespresso limited edition collection for Chinese New Year 2023 features five delicious coffee flavours. Ispirazione Arpeggio, Ispirazione Napoli, Ispirazione Venezia, Master Origins Nicaragua, and World Explorations Shanghai Lungo are all part of this special collection. Chinese New Year is a time for family, food, and celebration, and these flavours provide a unique way to enhance the experience.
Nespresso also issued a large travel mug in a stunning red colour and offers more than 30% discount on selected coffee machines, with the Essenza Mini already going for RM438.

Special Lunar New Year Creations
Inspired by some of Angel Chen’s favourite ingredients, Nespresso created two new recipes to make this year’s celebrations with family and friends more memorable.
Peanuts and pistachio nuts are popular snacks during this time of the year and often associated with good luck and happiness. The Peanut Mocha is created from Nespresso Master Origins Nicaragua, milk, chocolate syrup, peanut butter spread and pistachio nuts. Enjoy this crunchy and nutty drink as an afternoon treat.
The second recipe is The Sweet Reunion, a drink created to celebrate the sweetness and significance of reuniting with loved ones. It is made with the World Explorations Shanghai Lungo, apple juice, pomelo honey jam and slices of apples to give the drink a fruity freshness. The pomelo is widely acknowledged to bring good luck to the household and is one of Angel Chen’s favourite ingredients.
