Season four of The Crown will follow the Queen’s reign throughout the 1980s and from what we know so far, will highlight Thatcher’s time at Number 10 and the turbulent marriage between Princess Diana and Prince Charles.
Olivia Colman, (who clinched an Emmy award for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in the previous season), Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret and Josh O’ Connor as Prince Charles will be some of the returning cast set to star in the new season.
According to Variety, season four will be Colman’s final outing as the Queen, giving way to Imelda Staunton who will take over the throne for the final two seasons of the series, while Jonathan Pryce will be taking over as Prince Philip and Lesley Manville will star as Princess Margaret. The young Corrin will also be replaced by Elizabeth Debicki for the final seasons as Princess Diana. Season four of The Crown is set to debut this 15 November.
