Buckingham Palace is expecting a very special royal delivery in the spring of 2019. According to an official statement released on Monday, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, are expecting a baby.

“The Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the spring of 2019,” their Kensington Palace residence said.

The Duchess of Sussex’s recent, more discreet fashion choices make a whole lot of sense now. As they touched down in Australia, the Duchess was seen to be carrying a binder, which served as a perfect functional decoy.

As this is the royal couple’s first child, there will undoubtedly be much fanfare and pomp surrounding its arrival, and we’re sure Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis of Cambridge will be thrilled with their new playmate.

As with regards to a name, it will be interesting to see whether the Duke and Duchess will stick with something traditional or follow their own lead, as they have done in the past (and most recently at Princess Eugenie’s wedding when they entered the chapel ahead of Prince William and Kate Middleton).

We don’t know much more than that at this stage, but one thing’s for sure – this will be one of the most anticipated royal deliveries of the generation.
